B Category – Car Driving Licence

The B category covers passenger cars and light commercial vehicles with a maximum authorised mass of up to 3,500 kg and no more than 9 seats. It also includes the right to drive AM category vehicles and certain agricultural vehicles.

Training Process

• General CPP course (16 hours)
• Additional B category theory course (8 hours)
• Theory test at the examination centre
• Minimum of 20 practical driving lessons
• Practical driving test

Requirements

• Minimum age: 17.5 years
• Valid medical certificate
• First aid certificate

Start Driving at 16

Want to get on the road earlier? You can start driving at 16 through our Driving with a Supervisor programme and gain valuable experience before taking your practical driving test.

Automatic Transmission Option

You can also complete your B category licence using a vehicle with an automatic transmission. Training is carried out on a modern VW T-Roc automatic vehicle. After passing the test, code 78 is entered on your driving licence, allowing you to drive vehicles with automatic transmission.

Driving with a Supervisor

The supervised driving programme allows young drivers to start gaining experience at the age of 16. After completing the required training, candidates can continue practising with an approved supervisor before taking their practical driving test.

• Practical driving test

• Minimum age: 16 years

Who Can Be a Supervisor?

A supervisor can be a parent, guardian, foster parent, or another person who:

• Is at least 27 years old
• Has held a valid category B driving licence for at least 5 years
• Has no more than 5 penalty points
• Has permanent residence in Slovenia

The vehicle must display an official "L" sign while the candidate is driving.

BE Category – Car with Trailer

The BE category is required when the combined maximum authorised mass of the towing vehicle and trailer exceeds 4,250 kg. It is ideal for drivers who tow larger trailers, caravans, horse trailers, or work equipment.

• Additional BE theory course (4 hours)
• Theory test at the examination centre
• Minimum of 16 practical driving lessons
• Practical driving test
