Bus Driving Licence

D Category – Bus Driving Licence

The D category covers vehicles designed for the transport of passengers with more than 9 seats, including the driver's seat.

The minimum age for obtaining a D category licence is 21 years if you have completed the Initial Qualification (Code 95), or 24 years for all other applicants.

Training Process

  • CPP theory course (20 hours)
  • Theory test at the examination centre
  • Practical driving training
  • Practical driving test at the examination centre

Requirements

  • Minimum age: 21 years with Initial Qualification (Code 95)
  • Or 24 years without Initial Qualification
  • Valid medical certificate
  • Category B driving licence held for at least 3 years
  • Valid category C or D1 driving licence

Code 95 – Initial Qualification

If you plan to work as a professional bus driver, you will need to obtain the Initial Qualification (Code 95). This qualification is required for commercial passenger transport and can allow you to obtain your D category licence from the age of 21.
